Minoru Sato’s Thermal Acoustics (2013–ongoing) comprises four identical glass tubes heated to different temperatures. As the difference between the tubes’ internal temperatures and that of their environment increases, changes in pressure occur, creating audible tones. Tone fluctuates with temperature; the warmer the air, the faster the sound waves travel, and vice-versa.
